So anyways, Bri and I are doing well. We have almost totally moved into our tiny basement apartment. We’re still trying to figure out where some things can go, like our Dr. Pepper supply for working all-nighters. :) I need to take some pictures of the apartment. Maybe I’ll get to that sometime this weekend. Maybe..
Bri has started BYU’s accounting program. It is consistently top 5 in the nation. There’s over 90% placement within 3 months of graduation. Awesome. But, in order for the students to be that great after graduation, they absolutely kill them in school. Bri’s general weekday (and sometimes Saturday) schedule is as follows: in the library between 8-8:30 am; studying till I make him eat lunch with me at 11:30-12; Class from 12:30-3:15; three days a week he has class again from 4 till 5 or 5:30; sometimes library again till 7 or so; then he eats dinner with me and spends till 10 reading in our apartment for class the next day. Sounds like fun doesn’t it? :) Bri enjoys most of his classes, but not really the work load. He’ll be happy when this year is over.
My school year has been easing in. I don’t have class all the time it’s scheduled until end of September. Once things are in full gear, I’ll probably be almost as busy as Bri, but hopefully we’ll still get to see each other occasionally. I’m also working 24 hours a week at the hospital. One 12-hour all-night and two 6-hour evening shifts. It’s not too bad. Bri work’s 12 hours at the MTC. One 8-hour all-night and one 4-hour evening shift. Most of the time our shifts overlap so it’s not bad.
I’ll work on getting some pictures. Hope this wasn’t too long and tedious. I also hope it makes sense. I blame all mistakes on the fact that it is 5:42 am.

Nursing school is a lot of fun, but very time-consuming. The other day we learned how to give shots. It was way fun! We’re going to practice again on Tuesday. My instructor told me I have a good stabbing motion. I’m not sure if that should make Brian nervous or not. :) We’re doing clinicals in a nursing home this semester. This means we spend 5 hours each week in a nursing home being some combination between a nurse aid (CNA) and the actual nurse. We don’t know enough to really act a nurse yet. We each have one patient to take care of.
Along with clincial we have 4 lecture courses: Gerontology, Fundamentals (the shots class), Community nursing, and Nursing writing/research. Writing/research definitely wins as my least favorite class. It is intensely time-consuming and very confusing. I’d rather be getting my hands dirty than sitting at a computer researching anemia. I’m also taking 2 religion classes (Intro to Islam and the Revelation of John), a PE class (intro to outdoor recreation), and a filler class (intro to Clinical Laboratory Science). The religion classes are very interesting. The teacher for Revelation is my religion professor from Jerusalem, Richard Draper, so I love that class. Islam is also very enlightening. The PE class is one of the best classes ever. Almost every week we are out doing an activity: rock climbing, cross-country skiing, kayaking, geocaching, etc. It’s a great break from my other classes. The lab tests we run in CLS are fun but the teacher gives long, boring lectures before we get to the labs.
I’m also working 18.. ish hours a week at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. Recently it’s been so busy I’ve worked an extra hour on average each week. I work Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 6pm to midnight (or 12:30 depending on how busy it is). I love my job. I really enjoy the interaction with the patients and the nurses.
Brian is still doing well. He’s working hard this semester so he can apply for the Accounting program this summer. We tend to see each other during breaks between classes for lunch and dinner. We are both very busy. He’s so good at being sure we have time to still do some things together. He’s always so sweet to me.

The most exciting thing in my life right now is that I am dating someone. We started dating just over a week ago. His name is Brian Wright. He is from Judy Cannon’s ward in California. Both Judy and Bob told Brian at church within 5 minutes of each other that he should ask me out. He decided to take them up on it. We went on several dates and now we’re dating. He’s an amazing guy. He is so sweet to me. He returned home from a Mission in Honduras this past summer. He’s awesome.
Other than school, work, and Brian, I have nothing else to report. Any questions?  I’d be happy to post responses.

It’s week 2 of this new semester of school. I finally got into the nursing program! This semester is kind of a dead semester though.  We don’t get to start any of the fun hands on stuff until next semester. This semester we just learn how assess a patient/client’s basic health, but only get to do the assessments on eachother. Next semester we will go into nursing homes and use our skills there. This semseter I am also taking intro to microbiology-hence the paper I’m trying to summarize, pathophysiology, first 1/2 D&C, and I’m also the TA for a food prep lab. Overall, these classes keep me busy.
I am also working 18 hours a week at UVRMC as a nurse assistant on a Med/Surg floor. It’s lots of fun. I really enjoy working. It’s great work experience for nursing!
